Ingrid Michaelson’s 1930s Spanish-style house is hitting the Los Angeles real estate market today with a $4.295 million price tag. The “You and I” singer, who bought the abode from High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale in May 2019, consulted with Tisdale on how to edit the space to her liking.

“We did a total gut renovation to build the kitchen of our dreams,” Michaelson tells AD via email. “I worked with a design team and [Tisdale] to create my very own Nancy Meyers kitchen. I love to sit at the banquet and have tea and just stare out at the incredible view.” The kitchen features vaulted and beamed ceilings, a rustic wood island, a cozy breakfast nook, deep blue cabinetry, and gold fixtures.

AD toured the three-bedroom, four-bathroom home when it was inhabited by Tisdale. The former Disney Channel star tapped AD100 designer Jake Arnold to decorate the space. During renovations, Tisdale transformed a small bedroom into the primary bathroom, outfitting it with a deep soaking tub that still stands in the spa-like space. The actor’s extra-dark hardwood floors and several light fixtures from her tenure also still grace the abode.

Designer Francesca Grace staged the 3,520-square-foot gem for its return to the market, including some of her custom-designed furnishings. Grace, who favors a maximalist 1920s cottagecore-inspired vibe in her own home, gave the space a similarly vintage look—albeit with a more minimal, ’80s-inspired spin. The living room in particular is staged as if a super chic Golden Girls fan resides there: a pair of low-sitting circular chairs clad in a pastel floral fabric face a burl wood coffee table opposite a greige sofa. Gold, cream, and dusty rose accents complete the room’s retro look. The furnishings are available for purchase.

Outdoor highlights include an alfresco dining space, which is shaded by a pergola covered in lush plant life, and a fountain lined with blue-and-white patterned tiles. A terra-cotta-tiled balcony rounds out the house’s open air offerings.

Michaelson is parting ways with the residence in order to be closer to family. “We love this home so much. I always felt guilty leaving it,” she tells AD. “It is the kind of home that deserves to be lived in and loved.” Eric Lavey of Sotheby’s International Realty Beverly Hills Brokerage holds the listing.
